Comment on “From Tabernacles to Pentecost” (John 7:37-39) by Danielle Laird https://stmatthewbt.net/2017/06/03/from-tabernacles-to-pentecost-john-737-39/#comment-32741 Mon, 12 Jul 2021 11:49:35 +0000 https://stmatthewbt.net/?p=2837#comment-32741 Thank you for this sermon! I really enjoyed reading the progression through the Jewish feasts, and how Christ fulfills them and makes them new. We just watched an episode of the Chosen that takes place during the Feast of Tabernacles, when Jesus heals the man at the pool at Bethesda. This makes the connection between the living, healing waters, and Christ as the source even more meaningful. Thank you again. God bless you in your ministry!

Comment on “The Heavens Being Torn Open” (Mark 1:4-11) by Jill Sengstock https://stmatthewbt.net/2018/01/07/the-heavens-being-torn-open-mark-14-11/#comment-31244 Thu, 14 Jan 2021 17:55:07 +0000 https://stmatthewbt.net/?p=3007#comment-31244 This commentary is just what I needed when I was looking for why the heavens are described as torn open, which I’ve always been puzzled by. It was to show the power of His presence, not sneaking in but wanting to call attention to the importance of what was happening. I never knew about Isaiah’s prayer to have the heavens torn open, so essentially this is an answer to his prayer! And instead of judgement, peace between us and God.
